Parenting book Review No. 1
Parenting Teens
We have so many options when it comes to parenting books today. Please know I don’t know the best way to raise your teens and quite frankly, I barely know what’s best for my own! The books I’ve gained so much wisdom from as a mom of eighteen years are the only ones I’ll ever recommend.
Jodie Berndt wrote “Praying the Scriptures for Your Children,” I can’t recommend it enough. She covers various topics, including peer pressure, body image, friendships, and beyond. This book has encouraged me through different seasons of parenting, but mainly through the teen years. At the end of each chapter, Jodie includes a prayer script for you to pray over your kids, and each prayer is scripted directly from Scripture. She references each verse for you to look up during your Bible study time. I’ve heard from so many mothers who are afraid to pray because they think God won’t like the way they pray or won’t say the right thing. This is a lie from the enemy to get you not to pray. Dear mothers, do not be deceived by this lie! The Lord wants to hear your prayers regardless of how they spill out of you. Jodie will help you strengthen your prayer life through guided prayers that will not only bless God and, in return, you but also help build confidence in you to pray your prayers over your family by using Scripture as your guide. I hope you’ll consider reading, and if you do, report back to us what you appreciate most.
